Globetrotters of the Month

The year has started off greatly for the Globetrotter team and many students have shown they will be great additions to FJH.  We would like to acknowledge a few with our first student awards.  Please Congratulate Kaydynn Stayer for being named Student of the Month; Sophia Membreno-Funez for being Leader of the Month; and our Person of Character for the month, Dayana Ramirez.  All are embracing the motto of Carpe Diem!

Turnover Hunger Food Drive: Help Us Tackle Food Insecurity! 🏈

As we gear up for the annual Mudsock football game, all 22 HSE schools are teaming up to tackle hunger! Through Turnover Hunger, HSEF and Fishers Youth Initiative (FYI) are collecting targeted food donations to support local HSE students and families experiencing food insecurity. Starting Monday and continuing to September 11, students and staff can bring in the suggested food item for their grade level. Together, HSE schools have already collected 94,998 snack items through Turnover Hunger—and we’re ready to make this year our biggest drive yet! Let’s fill the shelves, support our community, and score a big win against hunger! 🏈🥫

The collection bin is by the front office.

Grades 5-8

• Chomps Mini Sticks (chicken, beef, or turkey)
• Applesauce Pouches
• Individual Dried Fruit (raisins/freeze-dried fruit crisps)

DC Update

Over 100 8th graders have signed up for this year's class trip to Washington DC.  Be sure to check that your name is on the "Here's Who's Going" list displayed just outside of Mr. H's room C116.  This is the official registration list so if you're not on it, you're not going... see Mr. H if you have an issue!

Charger P.R.I.D.E

Shout out to Roan Webster for being a shining star and displaying Charger P.R.I.D.E. There were some bananas left on a table in the cafeteria and on his way out he grabbed them and put them in the donation bin all on his own accord. Additionally, we are excited to share that Colin Prasetyono and Leah Allen are showing their Charger P.R.I.D.E by including others and making others feel like they belong in our FJH community!

Globetrotter Shirts

If you want to order this year's Globetrotter shirt (t-shirt, crew sweatshirt, or hoodie), you have one week left.  Just return the form and payment to Mr. Sturgeon before Friday.  There are copies of the form available in his room.

Golf

The Lady Chargers defeated New Pal and Delta last night. Congratulations to Ellie Goradia for being the overall medalist with a new personal record. Also contributing to the team score for the Chargers were Emmi Graves and Izzy Gustin, both with personal records, and Layla Whalen. Beatriz Banda, Laylin Leichtman and Emille Stout also shot personal bests. The Lady Chargers are back in action next Wednesday vs. Noblesville East.

Charger Volleyball

Your 7^th grade charger volleyball team fought hard against a tough Fall Creek Valley team and was unable to pull out the win.  But our team had moments of greatness with Sadie Niemeyer serving 4 straight Aces, Rowan Burkholder with an ace and a kill, Brooklyn Jones with a block and a kill, Gabby Baker with 2 kills and a great back row attack, great serving by Abby Galligan, and Alexis Brunes with a block and ace.

The 8^th grade volleyball team dug deep and persevered over Fall Creek Valley coming from behind in a gutsy victory.  The Chargers were led by a maximum effort performance from setter Stella Bilotto and strong up front blocking from Aubrey Overfield, Brynn Miller, and Abigail Flesch.  

The Chargers take on Noblesville East on Tuesday and Clay on Thursday in a couple of away matches.
